Privacy policy

We built WavyRide to keep your rides private by default. This page explains in plain words what we collect and why.
The waitlist
When you join the waitlist, we store your email address, the language of the page, where you signed up, the time, the notice you agreed to and a one-way hash of your IP address that helps us block abuse. We use your email address only to tell you about the launch and to invite you to test the app before release.
Your rides
In the apps, your rides, trips and routes are stored on your phone. They leave it only when you upload or share them, and the app follows your location only while you record.
Sharing and photos
What you share is visible only to the people you choose. You can hide the start and finish of a ride before you share it, and photo locations never reveal a place you hid.
The Google Maps converter
When you convert a link, we read the stops from it and send their names and positions to our routing service to calculate the route. We don’t store or log the link, the stops or the route. To prevent abuse, we keep a one-way hash of your IP address for at most a day.
Your account on the website
If you sign in on our website with Google, you use the same account as in the app, and we receive your Google account ID, name and email address. A cookie keeps you signed in for up to 30 days; we store only a one-way hash of it. Routes you save from the converter are stored in your account as they are, without hiding the start or finish, and only you can see them until you delete them.
Where your data is stored
Our servers are in the European Union, in Frankfurt, Germany. We don’t sell your data and we don’t use it for advertising.
Your rights
You can ask us at any time for a copy of your data, to correct it or to delete it. Write to us at [email protected].
